Stop/Start
Anyone on here know how to reverse the operation of the Start/Stop switch? (ie defaults to Off and has to be manually switched on.) I believe this can be done which would be great for the powershifts and autos.

I have never known it to be possible to be default off. I just slide my finger forward from the gearstick when I get in,as a matter of course, and press the button. Not helpful I know..!!

I have been informed that you can buy a module to connect up which reverses the start/stop switch so I am making some enquiries.

Look forward to what you can find out. The auto start-stop is fine when waiting at traffic lights, but hopeless (and even dangerous) at roundabouts and other junctions where a quick getaway is necessary. I tend to switch it off, and then switch it on if I'm coming to a set of traffic lights where I know I'm going to be waiting for a while.

I think the stop start on Autos should be off unless the parking brake is on ! A simple logic change in the software .

I'm confused why this is a problem on auto cars? I have a MY15 auto and can control when the stop/start comes on by the pressure on the brake pedal, so it never comes on when I don't want it.
I've driven various different makes of cars over the years with S/S and have always been able to do this - why do some Volvo's appear not to operate in this way? |

I've also never had problems with stop start in any vehicle, sure didn't like it the first ever time I came up to a roundabout in a courtesy car but had I understood at the time I had nothing to fear, does as it should do.
Unfortunately some folk didn't like decimalisation either but eventually you have to move with the times and stop fighting every change. It works just let it do its thing and live with it rather than keep suggesting it doesn't work or it's dangerous. |

I just switch it off whenever i borrow a car to go on training course's when i first get in car,
Least its easy to do with switch at bottom of centre of dash, Like the old days when you used to have a button to turn the traction control off in a similar place
