Default Sat Nav mounting

Hi, I have to fit my work TomTom Go satnav / tracker in my car. Don't like them stuck on the windscreen.
Can anyone recommend a way of fitting it on the dash area and where to power it from?

Look at solutions from Brodit (Pro-Clip to suit your car) then, if you find something suitable I can post up some pictures on the best way to attach the TomTom mount to the Brodit Pro-Clip avoiding a costly holder.

What TomTom model is it?

As for power you could add another ciggy socket burried behind the dash/ glove box to hide the wiring but you MUST use the ciggy lighter addapter cable supplied with the device as this converts the electrical voltage from 13,8 down to the 5V the nav unit requires - Mike

Have a look at This Thread the details were for a TomTom 1000 (Which should be the same hardware you are getting, the difference in pert number being the work vs domestic use device) fitting to a Brodit Pro-Clip in my V70 but it should give the idea, the main post is about nine from the start, plenty of pictures showing how to get the mount to bits then use the power cable as supplied with the device.

I routed the power cable through the airvent on the dash and inserted the plug in to a hidden ciggy socket under the dash keeping the unsightly wires out of the way - Mike

I use one of the Tomtom self adhesive mounting discs in the recess where a satnav would have gone if I hadn't been too mean to spec it......

Thanks for the link Mike, looks like a good solution. Satnav mount virtually the same as mine.

My method does require the TomTom mount to be taken to bits and reassembled with a couple of Brodit parts but it does offer a very stable mounting solution that doesn't fall off and doesn't attract the car thief as it leaves no suction marks on the windscreen - Mike

I used a slightly adapted vent mount is my S60. It's stuck to the fascia using self adhesive velcro. Works a treat
