Xc90 front wipers with r/s& hl washers stopped working!
Hi all....does any one have any help or advice for my xc90 d5 se 55 reg its coverd 30k miles and a fault on the front wipers and head light washers has got me baffled ,,they have completely stopped working!!
i tried ringing the local dealer in warrington for a little tech advice,, now after spending heaps of money with them and recieving many tins of courtesy mint imperials ,, you would think a llittle help would have been at hand!!!but they said they dont give advice for free and to bring the vehicle in,, now i dont have a problem with that,, but when the guy answering the phone tells me it could well be a coms unit and there 600 quid with out even looking, makes my trust in main dealers unsure!! the problem started after a week of not using the xc90,, i got in the vehicle started it and all was fine ,, went to press the windscreen wash that was fine and working ,, but ive noticed no wiper action,, now the rear wiper and washer are also working fine along with front windscreen washers they all work fine.... but on further checks i found that the front wipers and front head light wash are failing to work.... so hear is what checks ive done so far ....all fuses have been checked and fine ...all relays fine....ive also checked the wiper motor and thats fine and works when i bypass it,, but what i did fined is theres no power going to relay board ... so i suspected it could be the wiper stork that controls all the functions,, so ive changed that for a new one !! and still the same dam problem any help and advice would be much appreciated ,, thanx ian |

Ian, see if there is someone close to you with a PPC fault code reader - I have one if you fancy popping down.
It is possible that a stored/logged fault code with the stalk assy needs clearing before it will work correctly. Will PM you Mike Last edited by GSMGuy; Jul 4th, 2009 at 16:07. |
