Default Driver Alert system

My MY 12 V70 D3 (163) has been back to the dealer twice in the last week with a failed Driver Alert system (collision warning, lane departure and driver alert) without success. On the first visit I was told "the module" had been reset, fault codes deleted and everything was o/k. The system failed again within a mile and it was re-booked for yesterday. That time they "reloaded the software" but the download failed. it's now booked in again for next Wednesday when they will "calibrate the camera".

My main question is, has anyone else experienced this problem?. The car has only done 18,000 miles but is due to run out of warranty in December and I would want the issue resolved permanently before then.

Should have mentioned that various messages appear at differnt times including lane departure warning (or collision warning or driver alert ) not available, windscreen sensors blocked, driver alert system service required.

Many Thanks

Frank

Since my last post in this thread the car went back to the dealer or a further three days whilst they re-calibrated the camera (unsuccessfully). I then got a call saying that they (a) needed the loan car back as they had sold it and (b) needed to talk to Volvo about replacing the camera. As this would take 4 working days I agreed to take the car back pending a phone call. Ater 6 working days I phoned the dealer for an update. I was told that Volvo had suggested that it may be a loom (not sure about the camera). Since the dealer would want the car or at least 2 days I asked about a loan car. At this stage I was told that one wouldn't be available until Tuesday 8th July. (thats today). Not having any real option due to commitments, a funeral and other matters I re-arranged any number of personal things and went away for a few days. In the middle of last week whilst away I received an E Mail cancelling todays appointment because there was an 8 to10 week delay in the supply of the loom. Speaking to the dealer yesterday the delay was confirmed. Seemingly not one exists in the world and it will have to be made specially!!! This is a part for a 30 month old vehicle manufactured by a so called quality company. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Just to make it clear my grouse is not with the dealer it's Volvo itself.

I have experienced issues with mine but not like you. Bright sunlight from a rearwards angle can cause the BLIS to become unavailable as it confuses the camera. In heavy rain or snow, the build up of water/slush on the grill can block the radar. All these are well known issues though.
