Volvo ID app in Sensus, what’s the advantage of signing in?

Hi,

I own a late 2020 Volvo XC90 and I have (like us all) the Volvo ID app installed in the Sensus infotainment system.

I opened it, logged in and… that’s it, the app does not really contains any submenu nor allows to do anything…

What type of features and functionalities is the app supposed to allow?

Before logging in, I already had the Volvo Cars app on the iPhone and could do all the remote features from the mobile app.

I thought logging into the Volvo ID app on the Sensus infotainment would actually enable something more…

No obvious advantage at all, I wondered if it links the car to driver safety alerts when connected safety is enabled, but probably just a useless app. The Volvo ID online app used to be a useful app with a dashboard and car info and special offers but they changed it and now it is not worth logging in.

I think you just need it as part of the initial linking. It doesn’t do anything else as far as I can see.

if your car has on call,you can use the app to start the car and lock it or unlock it and you can track its movements.
