Feeling push back when turning
Hiya all. I've just bought a 2003 S60 2.4 D5 I took the car for a run before buying the car and all seemed fine and the car was lovely so I bought it. On my drive home I have to go round a sweeping right hand bend, I was taking the bend at around 50mph, and although the car went round the bend ok, I could feel something in the steering. It was as though the steering was pushing back as though it wanted to straighten up. Although it didn't seem too dangerous it still caused me to brake lightly after feeling this. Has anybody got any ideas about what this could be please. Thanks a lot for any help or info given...Steve.

Could be air in the power steering, check the level, as going round a corner could have made the pump run a little dry. Also check the belt for tightness.

If it does need topping up, do that then turn the steering wheel from lock to lock a few times to work the air out.
Obviously, if it has leaked some out, you will need to find the source of the leak. |
