Intermittent wipers
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a factory intermittent wiper switch kit for an early 140? I picked up a kit for 1973-on 140s a few years ago but it seems totally wrong for my '67.Maybe there's a universal kit which may do the trick ( I remember such a switch on a 1600e Cortina I had once.)Any info would be helpful , Thanks , Chris. |

the delay kit has a round rubbery knob coming from a small plastic box with a tapered symbol to denote delay time and wired about 10 times thicker than needed coming out to interface with the wiper motor you could use your kit but hide the knob somewhere .

Hi Clan
I hope you don't mind me posting (Im to new to PM yet). I noticed on your post that you had at some time a headlamp wiper system for a pre-1973 140 with round headlamps. I have been searching for this kit for some time. If by any chance you still have it and it is for sale, I would be very interested. Failing that, some detailed pictures of all the bits would really help my search. If you can be of any help I would really appreciate it Very kind regards Neil |

Hello Clan,
If the intermittent wiper kit made it out of the loft, I'd be interested to see pictures and also whether you'd consider selling it. The headlamp wiper/washer kit is also very interesting, but should you be considering selling that too then I'm sure Smedith is at the front of the queue. Regards, Kean |

If the wipers self park then a simple switch with a VW relay type 99 will give you variable delay intermitant wipers, would be quite simple to set up - Mike

you can use any 240 front or rear delay relay too , once you work out how to interface it . i used one with a lucas wiper motor in the 1970's and it is still going strong .

This is something I have been thinking about for some time. Would it be feasible to wire in a relay and switch independant of the main wiper circuit?
