Hi all
First post here after lurking for a bit.
I've just bought a Blackberry Pearl 940 Torslander SE Turbo to replace my less than frugal Jeep cherokee,as I need the space to cart my dog around in.
So far I'm very impressed by the space and the driving experience.
Couple of issues that I wondered if anyone could help with, one being the abs light is on.Sensor? the other is the shocking discovery that the car has 135bhp.I'm not after a rocketship, but that seems ridiculous from a turbo charged 2.3 engine!
All in all though I'm v happy with the car and the fact it cost me £325 with 105,000 on the clock was a bonus.
Cheers
Daz.

Sorry about the picture quality, moody camera phone....

Hi,

ABS light. Could be a sensor. Best to find yourself a good local Volvo independent and get the codes read (Light on is an MOT fail) to give an idea as to where the fault lies.
Does the speedo work - faultlessly? If so then it is probably a sensor at the front. But no necessarily!

You probably have a LPT so the boost pressure is pretty low. Can be adjusted with the addition of a n MBC to increase pressure.
There is a post here covering a few performance upgrade that can be done to improve things..
Go Faster Parts List!...

Welcome on board.

Cheers Des
I'll pop along and get it on the computer.
The speedo works fine.I had an Audi with a front wheel sensor that did the same,so I'm guessing it's probably that.
Cheers for the heads up on the go faster bit's.
As I say,I'm not after a sports car (I ride a motorbike to give me those kicks) it's just a little bit more urge would be nice,so I best book some overtime in and bash the plastic.

Hope you like the car. Mine is an HPT (High pressure Turbo version), and I have to say that it goes like sh*t off a shovel when needed, but being an old git, I rarely use the power. But yours will comfortably get you a big fat fine if used at the top end of its performance.

Just enjoy the pleasure of having the best marque on the road. Nothing to touch Volvos.

I'll bet you are enjoying the difference in fuel consumption.

That's what killed 4 wheel drives for me some years ago. The cost of Big tyres, constant visits to the filling station, and noisy sluggish performance, was the end of it for me.

Default Welcome Dazmax

These are great cars, arent they.I have an identical one to yours, but in Garnet Red.

The front wheel sensors are likely to the the problem.I recently had the codes read, on the advice from Des (CTC Network) and it turned out to be the front nearside.

As It was January when I had to replace the sensor,it was b*****y cold, without any cover, and decided to replace the sensor without taking the wheel off. However, this was a big mistake,so I would recommend taking off the wheel for easy access.

Dont let anyone fool you about this job.Its not complicated, just a b*****d to get the sensor out!

All the reading sources say that undo the nut next tho the sensor and the sensor will just pop out. That wasnt my experience!!!!! Drilling it out was the only way.

However, with all things Volvo, once the sensor was out reconnecting the
wiring was childs play.

Good luck!!
