Creaking CV boots on V60PE

Has anyone else had issues with creaking CV Boots?

I had Volvo out for a weird creaking noise last weekend, the Volvo tech who came out had never seen it before but over the phone the dealer's service manager identified it immediately as soon as I said "sounded like a zip tie when the car was on full lock".

The SM claimed it was common and not much could be done about it. I've never come across it before but I've only ever had ICE vehicles previously and he's claiming you can only hear it because the engine isn't running.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are - I'm thinking I'll probably leave it as I've no real desire to keep this car out of warranty so its not really an issue apart from the noise... On the other hand I don't particularly trust or like dealers and don't like the idea of being fobbed off.

I occasionally heard a similar noise on our first T8, only when I was standing outside as my wife manoeuvred off the drive in electric mode - never audible inside, only lasted a second or so and NOWHERE near as loud, that need looking at!

It’s not happened since the guy sprayed something or other on to it but I’ll push the dealer a bit harder.

I’m not booked in till may so we’ll whether it comes back.
