Difference in engine, gearbox between 163 and 185bhp?
Hello everyone,
Is there any difference between 163 and 185bhp engines, gearboxes, turbos, etc? Cheers, Matt |

Clan,
Are you able to tell me what are the differences in greater detail? I'm thinking about 57 reg S80? Do both 163 and 185 have DPFs fitted? Cheers, Matt |

Yeap, I suspected that. They are particularly the same in terms of drive train, especially with auto gearbox.
So, in theory if you can tweak the 185bhp engine to 200bhp, the same should be feasible for 163bhp without a major hassle, right? How reliable are these cars? Is it similar to pre-55 reg d5s? I'm aware of dpf, swirl arm issues. Is there anything else? Thanks, Matt |

What about 185bhp version and it's reliability?
That's right. It's marked 2.4D. Thanks for your help. Matt |
