Default Volvo time to change Timing belt etc...

V70 D5 coming up 10 years, so it needs a timing belt, idler, tensioner, plus Aux belt, idler, tensioner, plus air con stretchy belt.
Has anyone had this work done at a dealer, and how many hours did they charge? I don't really want cost as explained below:
I have discovered not all dealers charge the same hourly rate for jobs, but allow the same time for the same job. This is certainly true after the car passes 7 yrs old. ( This site actually advertises such for a dealer)
Therefore, if you buy your parts from an on-line Volvo dealer, you can get some good prices, then negotiate with a dealer for the best labour rate. Its not equal to Volvo indies but close enough.
Cheers
Bob

I suspect it's for your 2015 car ?

Just an opinion, but if you are intending to keep the car (a key point), once this work is done it's done for a good few years to come.

Perhaps don't penny pinch too much just to save even a couple of hundred pounds ? Perhaps get a Volvo main dealer or good Volvo independent to do it then you can hopefully have some additional peace of mind. Any cambelt issues could kill your car.

Also you might get a few more pounds/quicker sale if you do eventually sell the car, a buyer will appreciate the work having been done well.

The official Volvo standard time for a cambelt and aux belt and related tensioners on your 5 cylinder Diesel is 1.2 hours so ask what the hourly rate is before you say anything else.
you will know what the price should be. you might get a better deal if you have the 108,000 mile service which includes the above and air filter and fuel filter and the cars software is updated free and you get free breakdown cover and a free health check report.

I intend keeping, which is why I bought Volvo parts n labour to try to resolve a clutch pedal issue. Timing belt change will be done same way…I just need to understand the labour timings.
Cheers Bob

Thanks Clan, list price I have come across is just north of £500. Several dealers supply on line discounted bits I need, and several dealers are willing to negotiate for work on cars 7yrs+ old. The car is 10 yrs old in Dec but in the first 6 annual services I extended the interval by one month/year , so when I started to do my own services, the annual service was required in June not December. So currently it’s having its 9 yr service, but mindful of belt issues I don’t really want to wait the extra 6 months.
Anyway, another 10 yrs from now will see me and the car out. hahaha
Cheers Bob

Not sure if Volvo have a policy on it but, understandably, some dealers may decline to fit customer supplied parts - so you should also check they are prepared to do that.

What I’ve done in the past is show my local dealer what I can buy the parts for and they came very close to matching the price, which in some cases (filters) was almost 50% off.
