Audio upgrade, please advise!
Hello Folks,
I've just purchased myself a second hand 2006 S40 and would like to know what my best options are for retrofitting something to my radio console that allows me to connect my phone via Bluetooth to play music. I've seen some add ons knocking around where you can plug your phone jack into a 3.5mm jack that then goes into the radio but I'm unsure of where this type of device would plug into on the actual radio console. I have a Bluetooth receiver that could work with this kind of thing but it would also require a usb power source. Are there any music only Bluetooth adapters out there for this model of car? Ps. I've got one of those fm transmitters but with the new iPhone 5s once they're plugged in the damn thing becomes quite long!! Thank you for your help in advance. *** just realised I accidentally put this in the wrong vehicle forum, if an admin would be so kind as to move it or tell me how to move it it would be appreciated!!*** Ian Last edited by Sirvinventfonzere; Jun 24th, 2015 at 21:57. |

The Grom unit should do the job. There's a bluetooth dongle and you keep the dash and wheel controls.
Downside is that you lose the CD player. It's not cheap, though. |

You can get GROM units but they can be quite pricy, there are the FM Bluetooth adaptors which feed a FM signal into the stereo, you can get Bury devices fitted which do the same thing, or you can go to Volvo and see if you can get the updated stereo fitted, I have a Bury device fitted and it works wonders and doesn't interfere with the working on the stereo at all.
