1993 960 2.9 auto estate, speedometer wanted
Hi all,
I am looking for a working speedo (or instrument cluster that includes a speedo) for my 1993 960 2.9 estate, automatic, preferably black faced type. My speedo is a Yazaki with the numbers YA20 2518, Volvo 3544506 on it, manufactured around 1992-06-10 Thanks Mr G Halanen 07831 393510 |

Thank you all for your help; I have now fitted a replacement 960 unit with a working odometer. I have learnt a lot about the various connectors at the back of these units; they look the same from the front but are very different at the back.
Coincidentally, I also found out that the fuel gauge was also faulty and traced the fault to the tank sending unit; so nothing to do with the instrument consol). When I eventually got it out, the slider that goes up and down with the level (to vary the resistance and send it to the gauge) had a badly worn copper contact and I changed it for a good one from another unit. (The sender units are different lengths for different cars). So now all is OK and I thank you again for your help. |
