I've heard that next years national is being held in the South of England. I hope not. Any comment?

I would like it at a nice castle in bonnie Scotland. I can`t think of it ever being in Scotland which would make it a real first. Haggis neaps and tatties for lunch.

Wherever it's held it should be accessible for members from North and South equally. ie central England, Midlands, Birmingham area. Not London centered. It's a NATIONAL rally, not a North or Southern rally. I hope that the executive committee are taking note.

Draw a line from the top of Britain to the bottom, measure halfway down, pick a suitable spot nearby, after all we have members in the far North of Scotland right down to the South Coast of England, and why should members 'north of the border' have to travel 300 miles to a 'National' competition.

This year I have gone to the following VOC events. Note I live in Carnoustie Scotland and drove my 1969 Amazon to each one.
1. Scottish Section Meet at Gretna total distance traveled 360 miles.
2. VOC National Rally Sutton Park total distance traveled 650 miles.
3. Gaydon Volvo Rally total distance 840 miles.
A total of 1850 miles.
I enjoyed all the Volvo Meets over the year the best being Gaydon and don`t mind a drive getting there and back. But I feel that the Nation Rally has to be placed in a central location to give everyone a fair chance to attend.
