Default Volvo to go app

I have a new to me S90 coming next week. Do you need a sim card in it to make the Volvo app work ? Simple question that the Volvo sales person did not know the answer to.

I'm no expert and it may depend on the age of the car, but with mine it comes with a built-in sim that the app works over.

The Volvo car app works without needing a data Sim in the Modem. You obviously require a subscription to the app and it setting up in the car.

Depends how new your car is and whether it is serviced by your main dealer. Just had mine serviced and the app was renewed for another year free of charge.

Subscription cost is around £30 per year.

I’ve just bought a 23 plate V60 Cross Country. It has a built in SIM and four year’s data. This is way better than the way Audi do this, which is to rely on the SIM in your phone. The Volvo app is not so exciting though… not sure I would worry about that.

Well done on your decision though. They look awesome.
