Default Rubbish audio

Hello

Last year I bought a 2009 C30 with just 47 000 (genuine) miles on the clock. Runs really well but the audio system is a bit basic - e.g. no DAB, SAtNav, pretty average sound.

I've read that my choices of upgraded systems are very limited. Is this true, and, in any case, what recommendations might some of you be able to give me.

I'm happy to pay a reasonable amount, but, obviously, not silly money.

Cheers

JB

There are plenty of stories of frustration at the lack of options to improve these stereo systems. Easiest and simplest effort you can go to to improve it is to put something like a Pure Highway 600i in and connect it to AUX-in if you have it (use FM modulation if not). That will give you hands-free calling, DAB and Bluetooth audio. I use my smartphone for navigation and have the Pure Highway for the rest. You can always use BT input on the Pure device then use your phone for pretty muych everything such as nav, voice instruction, music and an app like TuneIn to listed to internet radio.

If you have the basic system you can also add rear tweeters which helps a bit with the sound quality but that's easy in the S40/V50. No idea how easy that would be in a C30.

the cost to use genuine volvo items is more than the car cost,
as Ian says rightly "nope not a lot of options"

Fm transmitter of this sort works decently if you have no AUX input,

adding satnav you are back to the "add on 3rd party" or use your phone options

PureHighway for DAB , 600 unit for hands free + BT streaming if thats your thing
