gdi 2000 v40 .. this car can be like a rocket , its serviced and thanks to the threads on this web pages , the throtle control valve is gleaming . but now its seems to be " surging " . well its the only word i could describe it. changing down gears or just taking the foot off the gas and its like a automatic ... it just pushes forward . any ideas would be great .

......i loaned my GDI to a good friend and his sister to go down Somerset for the week......they came back yesterday 700mls altogether ran ok but he said it was jerking and misfiring sometimes, as he couln`t find 98 octane anywhere he put in 95 (which the book says anyway) and he said it ran like a dream after that and no probs..........well because i put Shell V-power 99octane in the T4 i always put it in the GDI and i only use it around the town as it`s easier to drive, everything seems lighter to operate, any way i suppose it`s always hovering around choke on or just off unless i give it a bit of a run.....well after that 700ml run it`s obvious it doesn`t like the fuel, so we`ll take it from there and see what happens??.............. Perhaps change your fuel.......also is your throttle returning properly, mine is not the fly by wire model, the cable is adjusted by a nut behind and up away from the throttle body, it holds the outer part of the cable to a metal strip......
