Default Wanted: N/S driveshaft to suit 99/00 V70 TDi

Nightmare in progress here gents...

Whilst changing my ABS rings/lower arm I managed to pull the N/S/F shaft out which in turn dislodged the inner CV joint balls/cage and despite sitting for 2hrs rebuilding it, I then lost my patience and whilst knocking it back on, damaged the splines on the inner cup.

So, I'm in desperate need of either an inner CV coupling complete or a complete shaft with a bolt fitting (rather than a nut) I've checked ebay and some breakers and hit a brick wall.

Many thanks

Dave

Or failing that, if anybody can tell me what other models will be compatible? Be it either a complete shaft or the inner cup... my local breakers has a few, but I don't know if it's a common part or not and the internet isn't helping.

It's a manual

I feel your pain, had loads of trouble like this changing the arms. Are the splines totally beyond redemption, we spent an hour cleaning and deburring ours until they fitted again?

I've just realised that I've had a total blonde moment...

The splines I've damaged are on the inncer CV joint, ie where it slots into the gearbox and NOT the main shaft splines. So given the CV splines are mashed plus the fact the inner workings may have been damaged when the CV popped, I should be able to put a complete replacement inner CV joint on it which should solve my issues.

But yes, first reaction, well first reaction after I hurled it across the driveway, was to file the splines and replace the locking ring then rebuild the inner CV joint (yet again) along with a new boot and hope for the best. No idea why I deemed the shaft splines were ruined. Too much haste, not enough thought.

So, whilst a complete driveshaft would be great, I'd also take a complete inner CV joint - but as said, my local breaker has several cars but no diesels and I'm unsure if the inner CV is a common part across several models? I may have to go and get a couple and experiment if I can't source one from t'internet.

Cheers
