A Rare car for someone on the forum maybe?
Found this on ebay and thought it may be of interest.
I have only seen one before like this (metallic blue from belgium with BBS style wheels). This one looks a bit rough around the edges but someone may want to restore it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-240-Turb...QQcmdZViewItem Kerry

Problem with RHD with the steering column and the turbo. The left hand drive would make it a bit more fun and challenging.

I was looking at that auction last night and don't think the car is all the seller makes it out to be...
It looks pretty rough, even though the seller claims the body is in very good condition with no rust. I know pictures can be deceiving to make a bad car good look, but the pictures of the car give it a pretty bad impression, nevermind what it would be like upon inspection! Given the general condition, I'd say the engine has taken some abuse somewhere in the last 150k miles even though the seller again claims it is perfect, and mechanically very good. "I'm selling this as a spares or reapir..." It would be a nice breaker for somebody but I don't see much valve in it myself! |

Could drive it home too as its not registered in this country. Is it me or is the intercooler disconnected?

If you ended up transfering parts into another 240, it would be a cheap way of making a 240 turbo.

Tempting. If it was a 242 I'd have to bid.
The intercooler is disconnected. It may be a non-intercooled 240t on which someone got half-way through an upgrade. (The early 240 turbos had no intercooler, I'm not sure if/when the intercooler was added to the 240t). The LPG is nice if it works. But overall, I agree it feels a bit suspect somehow. Thanks for posting... I hope someone on here does take the plunge! John |

I don't think it's as young as the seller claims - it's got the earlier (circa 1983-85) bonnet and grille that I call the "Beak-style" rather than a flush-type one on it, plus move-them-yourself mirrors rather than electric ones. Still, as a spares ship or resto it would be interesting.
