c70 2.4t intercooler
Occasional stalling and surging at tickover (originally suspect maf). After diagnostic and smoke test, diagnosed leak around the bottom of ic (corrosion) Independent garage quoting genuine part 230+vat and 2.5hrs labour. Well I cant afford that, thinking of getting a used one of a volvo breaker and doing it myself. Can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial for doing this job please?

No, definately not. It's probably a much easier job than you are imagining.
I've never just replaced the intercooler, but I've replaced the radiator, and your job will be easier than that, you may even be able to do it without removing the rad from the car. See here for a pictorial of how I did the radiator, go from post #177: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...114983&page=18 The most difficult part was that the nuts on the main radiator mounting bolt had seized with rust - most of them do this so be prepared for some aggro here - I can't remember if you can get the intercooler out without at least slackening these bolts, you'll find out when you attempt the job. If your radiator has already been changed then you'll be fine. You'll see the problem and what I did about it when you read the thread. You may get some skinned knuckles but it's really not that hard, go for it! HTH Cheers,
