V40 problems Help!!
Hi,
I bought a Volvo V40 D3 62 plate with 66K in January from Carbase in Weston. On the way home to Swansea the clutch pedal dropped. After investigation and 2 weeks without a car the slave cylinder was changed and carbase paid for this at a cost of £380. Since then the car had been fine apart from an intermittent fault when the seatbelt warning stays on after putting on sestbelt. Then last week when driving to the airport to go on holiday a warning came up stating "Engine System Service Required". Luckily I was close to a mechanic friend who plugged it in to laptop and a fault was found with the throttle position sensor. I have been told that car will need to go to Volvo on there diagnostics and the fix will need to be done by the dealer. Does anyone know how much this will cost and do you think it's worth complaining to Volvo even though it is 6 months outside the 3 year warranty. I am very dissapointed as this was my first Volvo and i love the car but have lost confidence in it. Many Thanks David |

Sorry to hear you are having a few problems with the car.
If the car has a full Volvo service history I would contact Volvo & ask if they can assist in this matter as you have lost faith in the car, they may surprise you & cover the cost or even part of it. |

If the car has a full history and you bought it from a Volvo dealer, then I'm sure there will be some sort of goodwill gesture.
I've never paid for the full price for an out of warranty repair and my dealer is always helpful in getting Volvo to fund some of it. However, have you visited the local dealer and asked them about it? They are normally quite helpful in my experience. Worst case scenario etc. |
