c70 central locking problem
my 2002 c70 convertible has developed a problem.
the boot and petrol flap have stopped opening from the switches on the drivers door. I've also found that the central locking will not operate from the button on the drivers door but it will from the button on the passenger door. Also it will lock and unlock fine from the remote but if I use the key in the door only the drivers door locks and unlocks. As the button isn't working on the drivers door switch pack I'm thinking its the switch pack at fault. any suggestions guys ? cheers |

Sounds like the wires that run from the door to the car are damaged. Maybe you need to google how to take the door card off, luckily those are just a connection that shorts.

There is nothing more invigorating than driving in the rain with the roof down
so sometimes I find switch contacts need cleaning

That would tie in with broken wires in the loom between the door and the pillar where it flexes - sometimes the broken ends touch and make contact, sometimes they don't.

to try and find a broken wire amongst that lot is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack seeing as they all look fine.
When I've got more time available I think I'll just get a door loom from a breaker and replace the lot. Better solution in the long run.. |

Have you tried opening the big multi-plug in the door jamb and giving it a clean?
There's an awful lot of connections to fail in there.
