Default Towbar module

hi All,

I am able to pick up a used removable towbar + original volvo module for my 2011 V50 D2. It does not have a towbar at the moment at all so nothing is activated. I am on a pretty tight budget atm.

I was wondering if there is anything required to be activated after everything is connected and wired up in VIDA? I do have VIDA/2014 and a VIDA DICE. Would I be able to activate it myself or do I need to visit the dealer to complete the installation? Because in that case it would become quite expensive compared to an aftermarket towbar with aftermarket wiring that simply does not have a module.

Any experiences would be highly appreciated. Including experiences with aftermarket and DIY wiring.

VIDA installation guide reads software update needed. But personally have no experience.
