Wanted: wheels for 940
Hi all, I'm after a set of Galaxy wheels for my 940.
Will also consider a set of Polaris, although I appreciate I'll need spacers to make those fit. They'll need to be shipped to Doncaster unless you're near by, in which case I can collect. Thanks as always

Thanks Simmy, appreciate the tip
Just found out that Borbet 'E' wheels are almost identical, so another option there... just got to find some

Aren't borbet e wheels those horrible chunky wheels everyone fitted to their MX5's years ago? They're 15" too I think, nowhere near as much dish as Galaxies either. I personally don't see the big appeal of Galaxies especially the price people pay for them! Aurigas are a much nicer wheel IMO, if you're planning on spending big money on wheels then I'd look around for aftermarket wheels, good luck with your search as wheel choice is a difficult decision to make!

The Eicher are Polaris replicas I believe. You should't need spacers for genuine Polaris though. Finding a set will be the problem

I've been waiting 3 years for Eiker E1s to get back in stock!
That's a pic of the 18" versions, here's the 17" ones. Very heavy wheels apparently and bend if you run over a banana! Probably because people run rubber band tyres. They do look cool though, and being wider fill out the arches better than Polaris. Just need to make some volvo centre caps.

17s are the biggest wheel I'll fit to anything, as I like my ride comfort too much. Obviously the 850R has 17s, but the all season tyres are quite soft, so it still rides really well.
Its one worry I have about fitting the Polaris/Eiker to the 940 - its a sumptuous ride on 15s I'm sure it'll ride better on Galaxies than Polaris as they're 16s... but finding those will be equally difficult. This is the picture that got me interested in Polaris - The Galaxies are still very appealing, and I'd still buy a set if I found them for sale But I think the Polaris clinch the win for me. I've emailed Eiker, but apparently they don't often reply to emails in English
