Default Lost 8MM spanner in V70

A strange title for a thread but this happened last night:

While unbolting the rear light clusters on my 2000 V70 I stupidly dropped the 8MM spanner I was using down the back of the left rear light cluster, after much messing around with a magnet it seems to have gone in to the structure that forms the spare wheel well, actually under the spare wheel well so I still cannot get it back. Can't hear it rattle while driving and there is nothing in that void for it to damage.
If you ever find yourself taking the rear light clusters out using a spanner use a length of string to attach it to your wrist. If anyone has any ideas or knows how to get in that area without resorting to use of an angle grinder please let me know!

End result looks well though:
