I have a Powerklick box on my S50 D5 and been delighted with it. Looks exactly the same. Best of luck and seems to be inexpensive at that price.

That's what I thought, I am just used to the saying "you get what you pay for". Some of the other boxes seem to have up to 8 different maps to use depending on how you are driving. This one may but there is nothing saying so.

Yes, I am inclined to agree you get what you pay for. If it has a two year warrenty that sounds good but have no idea how good or bad the unit is. There is differences of opinion about tuning boxes and remaps. You have to just have to make up your own mind.

I got these 2 replys from them when I asked them what the units are like.

1) Our Entry level unit, The Classic is aimed at those wanting a unit that provides great performance but with no frills. The price of this unit reflects just that but is worth much more. Our web site sells the Classic for £239.00. If you are looking for a multi-profile unit, our Premier offers 4 profiles in the single unit. These are customer selectable and without having to remove any covers etc. It also has an intelligent cold start timer function and an on/off switch. Both these are also customer switchable easily. The CRD2 is from Germany via Switzerland and is TUV approved. No products manufactured in the UK need to be TUV approved as it is a German approval. All products need to be CE marked if they are for export but some goods such as tuning units fall outside the specification and therefore don't require the marking. Our Premier is currently on special at £159 + 7.95 carriage (usual price £299 and multi-profile £359) and comes with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. The CRD2 uses a seperate 12V supply, our advice would be to avoid it as they are known to cause some ECU failures which can cost the owner around £1000 to have fixed. It's your choice at the end of the day. You get what you pay for. Our designs are low power consumption and single plug type connection. 2) Something else for you to have a think about! Almost without exception, a vehicle will drive and perform at its best when it has the correct tuning profile applied. The idea of more than three profiles, ie. one for economy, and one for power (and maybe a third for a combination of the two) is a complete waste of time. It all sounds great on paper but the reality is that you will select the profile you like best, (i.e. the best power but with economy in mind) and then be unlikely to ever change this. As tuning specialists, it?s easy to see how customers can be fooled into thinking that more is more.. when in fact, more is not always more but just more costly.

Hi 111, Just purchased a Kingquick module from Jeff & fitted it to my V70 163bhp. Early days yet,but, straight out of the box, 10mins to fit, & the results are impressive. The extra torque lets the Geartronic box hang on to top longer, pulling away using the box as a manual, it lets you change up quicker(one gear higher compared to the same place down my lane), &, if you feel inclined & welly it, the extra power is very noticable. Time will tell re the extra 10% on fuel consumption. I suppose it all depends whether I use all the power-very tempting. All the best,JohnDale.

I would be very tempted by one of these apart from one thing... Insurance! I don't really care for the extra power (although it would be nice) but extra fuel economy is always a good thing, however; I don't think the benefit would be there with the extra cost of insurance vs decrease in fuel costs. I am 23, clean license, 5 years no-claims, driving 14k miles a year with (as soon as I pick it up!) a 1999 V70 2.5D.

John, Any update as to the quality, Mpg etc.

Hi 111, Haven't been very far yet, just local running. Round trips 8mls Supermarket, 4mls pub(few times), longest run 30mls, + I've been playing with the power & the in-car calculation is 37.5mpg which is better than I was getting previously. Not so many long runs now as I'm retired. Will check further & advise. I have fitted a unit to my pals 2007 Merc E280CDi V6 which had 190hp as standard-quoted power now 225hp with extra 60Nm torque. It really feels like it's correct & goes like a train. Mine also feels correct & much improved. Cheery,JD.
