  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default orange shock

my car is currently part through an mot, desperately need an orange shock absorber for a 240 glt. the garage has tried every where and cant locate the part. is there any fix around to fit a standard shock? i have searched the forum and not found anything concrete.

When Volvo stopped producing the GLT shock the replacement was the standard shock which was supplied with a thick spacing washer to take up the slight difference in length. This may still be available otherwise make up your own using thick washer(s0 to overcome the difference. Don't replace just one shock - it needs to be both.

I know the correct shock is available through IPD in America but of course with carriage and import duty is quite expensive.

The other alternative would be to change the struts for ones from a standard 240.
