boot lid open
got a problem with my S40 2006 2.0D everything was fine until i went to put some tackle in the boot it wouldnt open. when i turned ignition on i had the message on the dash "boot lid open" ive tried to reset it via trip counter and ignition switch as per u tube, and i cant clear the message but it still wont open the lock does work as i found out when i got the boot open and wd40 it but then it was in the locked position and i couldnt close it. anyway ive tried again to clear the message but its still showing help needed please. thank you in advance
oh and you cant hear the lock activating when you use the key fob when you lock/unlock the car Last edited by keith58; Jun 6th, 2022 at 13:59. |

Yours sounds similar to mine when it went. Had boot lid open message on dash. Boot wouldn't open when engine on but would open with engine off. I also had no boot light which at first I put down to bulb. Was two split wires which were in the black tube going from car to boot lid. I just soldered two new pieces of wire in and light worked and no more issues with message or lock.

yes it was the loom but i did manage to beak the lock getting it out so new loom and lock in today job done thanks for the help drive safe
