screws on weber 32 dir
hellow again,
some more questions( i have been holding back ;)) i was doing some thinkering with my carb, and noticed the large number of tuneble screws... first i noticed one on top of what seems to be the fuel-trottle-pump... what is it function? does it affect driving/ econmie? in any way? second one is the one on the right side of the carb (seen from drivers position) " underneath" the carb did not play with this one... any thought on that one? that about it... thanks and happy mototing!! theo |

Piece of advice, don't feck about with the carb unless you have the correct equipment or at least a manual.
You can adjust it by rev counter roughly, but it you havn't done it before the likely hood is you will make it run badly. As far as carbs are concerned they only have one correct setting and with 3 adjusting screws that setting can be hard to find. You can't make it go faster or more economical, you can just make it worse unless it not already set correctly. The settings only change marginally as the engine wears, but I usually find its best left alone and any off-sets means there is something else wrong with the engine or carb. |

RE: screws on weber 32 dir
You need to get an exhaust gas analyser, and then follow all the instructions from, I think the Haynes manual, or ideally the Volvo green books to set up all the bypass/volume/mixture screws. Not to mention the pneumatic choke and throttle stop settings on the choke.
I've done it once and it cured all my running problems, but its a bit of a difficulty. Andy |
