Peace
In general if you have already got a caravan or trailer then your Brink tow bar should be OK for use with the fitted hitch. You should not normally need to fit a new hitch to match your cars towbar unless you want to improve the hitch by fitting a better one such as an Alko stabiliser hitch.

For some people with an ordinary bolt-on tow ball they may need to replace the towball with a bolt-on Alko ball to improve the clearance between ball and bumper. Different models of Alko hitches require different clearances between towball and bumper to prevent the hitch snagging on the bumper or coming unhitched. Clearances vary between 60 - 67mm from centre of towball to bumper.

If you have the detachable Brink towball then fit it and check the clearance. This can be compared with the min requirement for the type of Alko hitch you already have or want.

The Alko hitch must be used with the cars towball dry - not greased.

You will find the Alko website has lots of info about their products. Check out their FAQ section on caravans. Hope this helps

Do you want the stabiliser hitch? It depends on the weight of your van, from a hazy memory the AKS 2000 <= 1300KG AKS 3000 > 1300KG

Now understand. You are after a suitable stabiliser that will work with your Brink tow bar - not an Alko stabiliser hitch.
This will depend upon the model of your Brink. You cannot use a stabiliser clamp plate on some models - best check with Brink whether you can fit a stabiliser to yours.
Bulldog Secure do make blade stabilisers and can supply with clamp plates to suit many models of detachable and swan neck towballs including Volvo models. You could check with them if they have a clamp to suit your model.

Peace , do you have a bolt on tow ball on your brink or is it what they call a swan neck ie fixed & looks like a hook with a ball on the end or is it a removable type of ball ie like a swan nek but removable
