...now that'd be real cool....... not only do we get to teach the bl**dy 4x4 brigade hipocrites that put us down at every turn unless we're helping keep things moving when nothing else can - we can clear the side roads for them when the people we pay our taxes to do it for us can't either............
..I can't think of anything that'd give me greater pleasure (well OK I probably could) than rubbing their noses in it - I can almost see the Halo from here....:-)

Excellent - I'd love one - maybe we could get a Government subsidy from the Road Tax specifically for owners of 4x4's (OK AWD) just for such occassions - problem solved.....:-) - bit like Reserve Firemen - call it Reserve Snowmen ..!!

Cheers
Ian.

It's a very very fair point....I know of several 'volunteers', myself included that are in organisations such as mountain Resue, Red Cross etc that have all been out 24hrs a day in the recent weather helping paramedics reach patients and get them into hospital, it will sound melodramtic to some but without these 'horrible 4x4's' people would be dead now that are alive today.

OK these are the more specialist vehicles and teams but there are several 4x4 response groups where people give up there own time to support meals on wheels, care staff etc etc and keep essentail services running, plus how many times to you here of someone in a 4x4 pulling another stranded motorist out of snow, even busses full of people if memory serves.

Seems x4 owners generally get a **** deal from the masses, it's about time some recognition was given to the good these vehicles and there drivers can, and do do!

..do you know I couldn't resit converting the price from Swedish Krona and it works out at about £6k for the expensive one....
Maybe I'll speak to my local MP when I next see him/her in about 4 years time and ask him/her if I can get a rebate on my poll tax :-)

Not sure I'd risk one on the XC90 - but I've just ordered one for my Defender.

Snow piling up in front of a 4x4 is the only thing that would stop it, but with a snow plough to push it aside, no problem.

The cost is probably due to the haudraulics.
