Default gearbox woes

Well as you all know i had mentioned about notchy gearchange. As i posted before the master clutch cylinder was at fault also.

got back from work today and went out again after about an hour. reversed the car out fine and pulled off in first. as i was driving along the street tried to change to 3rd from second and it wouldnt go.

As it stands the car will not go into 1st,3rd or 5th but 2nd,4th and reverse are perfect.

i managed to get it back home by getting it to go into 1st and 3rd although there was some resistance in doing so but no crunching etc.

The car is now laid up in the driveway and wont even think about going into 1st 3rd or 5th totally now.

Even when i did get it to go into 1st and 3rd bringing it back there was no gearbox noises the car was silent as if all was ok???

So could this be to do with the cables on the gearbox or is this something more major as i 2nd 4th and reverse are easy to get into. could it just be a damaged cog inside?

I hope its the cables but if its more it means the quaffe goes in sooner.

Problem solved.

HAd an inspection of the engine bay and while the old man was trying to put it into first the was a placstic connector loose and lodged in between the selector arm and box irself hence the reason i could only get the bottom 3.

It should clip to a designated bracket moulded into the lower half of the air filter housing ....
