Default Passenger upper door hinge

Hi, just welded up the for check strap. Does anyone know if the hinge pin can be replaced, photo attached.
I assume it presses in. Possible?
It has a slight but of wear causing the for to drop on the latch side by about 5mm.
Really needs fixing.......
Many thanks

Might be easier buying another hinge and bolting it on

Also are you sure it's the pin that's worn and not the hole?

To be honest I don't know for definite. I'm just finding it really hard to find a replacement hinge. A new one from scandix is 169eu. But that's the weld on part as well.

Even if the pin can be pressed out finding a replacement could be hard.
There are a few used hinges on ebay for a few ££'s. They're for the 850 but I would think the same.
How about finding a local engineering shop to turn one out ?

Yes, I've seen the 850 ones on flea bay. Not sure how much wear will be present on an 850 hinge. I dread to think how much one would be from the main stealer.
Having one made up could be an option but the car can't go without a hinge as it's kept outside.

Maybe a 850 one as a gamble. If it works great, if not, I've got one to play with........
Just to be clear, I can't see the part on the body being worn as there is no movement on that once the grub screw is tighten. So the wear can only be on the part bolted to the door. Be it the pin or the hinge.................

I know a lot of cars have pin repair kits. I found one for the later V70's but not the pre 2007 ones......

I'm surprised that the passenger door hinge has worn that much, as it doesn't get a great deal of use compared to the driver's door. However, there may be some special reason for it on your car. That said, my comment surely stands for the majority of cars, so if you can get a second hand one also from the passenger side, I'd say that the chances of it being badly worn are small, so that's probably the way I'd go if it were me.

I suspect that these hinges are "handed" so you'll probably have no choice than to get one from the passenger side, so happy days....?

Before I answer may I just take the opportunity to say that I love your slinky footnote. So very true.

We've had the car since it was 3 years old. In that time we have had 5 children. Now, that's a lot of school runs and a lot more use of the passenger door than the drivers door. Add to that the child abuse....I mean.. the abuse from the children.
Plus, the passenger door got damaged and the insurance garage completely mucked up the repair. So much so that the insurance company agreed to send it to the main dealer for making good.
So, there is a small possibility that the hinges don't line up with each other. The first company used a bolster chiesel to try and bend the hinges to adjust the newly fitted new door.
The main dealer was so shocked.
I believe they lined it all up again and it's just over use.
I can't find any hinges for sale in this country.
You are right, they are handed but I believe the upper rear door is the same as the front...,.
