C30 centre console
Hi all new member saying hello ,
Im going to look at a few c30's soon but ive noticed they seem to have a different centre consoles ( between the front seats ) . the one ive seen is advertised as a t5 se lux with black leather and shows two cup holders with the handbrake sitting lower down . The other is an R design but has a sliding cover and the handbrake sits higher up . Is this a difference between models or and updated interior ?? Also were body coloured bumpers an option ? thanks in advance Stuart. |

on my v50 the sliding cover opens to revel 2 cup holders, maybe on photo one had sliding cover closed and one sliding cover open, as for the handbrake maybe one was applied and one was off.

thanks for the reply , ive uploaded 2 photos of the different lay outs to show you as its not a case of the handbrake being on .
hope they work !! [/IMG] this is from an '07 t5 se lux [/IMG] this is from an '08 R design Im just wondering if its down to the different model/spec or volvo changed the interior between 07 and 08 models. Thanks Stu. Last edited by LIBERTINE 79; Jun 29th, 2009 at 12:31. |

Prior to MY 08 the handbrake had a leather gaiter and the central bin had no lid. From MY08 onwards, the roll-top lid appeared and the handbrake lever has no gaiter.
A number of different consoles are available (mine has the wood one from a V50 SE Lux; others are painted or patterned) |

thanks for the reply , yes the newer c30 I saw had no leather gaiter on it and a slide lid .
thats cleared it up that its an interior update and not down to the model/spec. I think im right in saying you have the 2.0 diesel , how do you find it around town to drive ? I currently have a VW golf diesel which was mainly for motorway driving but im only using it for in town driving now due to a change of job and dont find it as nice to drive now ( brilliant for cruising on the motorway though ) and would like to know your thoughts on this engine . There seems to be more reviews about the 1.6 & 2.4 diesels . thanks again . Last edited by LIBERTINE 79; Jun 30th, 2009 at 12:01. |

If you're only going to use it around town, look at the 1.6D, but you may find it a bit gutless. My rural and suburban motoring gets 52 mpg almost all the time (after 33K miles). Last edited by bryand; Jul 4th, 2009 at 22:22. |

thanks for the reply , I will definately be considering a remapped 2.0 deisel. I still want some performance from the car so not really after anything below 2.0 .
My heart is set on the T5 but everytime I drive past the petrol stations my head says stick with another diesel , My 1.9d golf sounds a bit like a tank which is the only thing putting me off . but the newer diesel engines ive tested seem a lot more refined compared to mine . thanks , Stu |
