Default Original wheel/ tyre sizes

Put about 1500miles on this 13 plate XC60 D5 AUTO.
I noticed the Volvo wheels looked like new! Maybe they are as they are 20" with brand new Pirelli tyres. I thought the ride was a wee bit harsh on uneven roads. Have they been changed?

Things that have been made by casting in a mould, like alloy wheels, often have a date mark cast into them, have a look at the back of the wheel, the date mark is often a circular mark about the size of a penny with a year number in the middle and a series of segments around the edge to show what month they were made.

Volvo have always offered a few upsized alloy wheel choices (for extra moulah of course), the original purchaser could have optioned those wheels. But ... I just checked, they only offered wheels up to 18" for the Australian market on the MY13 (even the R-Sport).

If you can find some photos of your wheels & link them here, I'll bet someone knows the market there well enough to be able to tell you if they were offered by Volvo on the 2013.

check the tyre date, this will only show when the tyres were manufactured, but you can be pretty confident the wheels are older than the tyres.

so if the tyres show 2014 year then its a good guess the wheels will be the same or older (unless they bought new wheels then fitted old tyres.

They will be going long term. Total carp ride with stupid low profile on tyres.
My £600 Citroen C5 rode much better than this in every way. How anyone could have forked out for wheels and tyres like this, and went for an AWD car is a joke.

I'm with you 100% but some people like their sporty looking tyres on their SUV. Personally I'm all for big fat tyres and comfort.
