Heavy steering is it normal
Hi all, First post here excited about joining the Volvo community, so Hello everyone
My question is , I have just bought an XC70 2008 D5 AWD. I have switched from a 2008 VW Passat . The first thing I noticed was how heavy the steering felt compared to what I'm used to . Is this normal ? I put it down to the size / Weight of the car and the fact it's AWD . Or should I be concerned and investigate ? The guy I bought from said it's how they are due to the above , I trusted him on this . Thanks all , |

I now have the car and pleased with it.
Checked tyre pressures , all ok now. Steering feels heavy particularly at slow speed , eg 1st gear to turn around a tight corner , and reversing onto my drive etc , I seem to have to work the steering wheel quite hard . So as above , normal for a AWD car that is so heavy or what are my next steps to check . Thank you 👍

make sure you are moving and not static when steering. the xc is heavy with wide tyres and awd hope its not spoiling the experience with your new car. lots of them out there maybe it will just take time. try to get a drive of a similar car to compare.

Thank you, yes will do. I'll check fluid as well. You may be right, could just take time adjusting . Not spoiling the experience just hoping it wasn't something wrong 👍
