Decent drivers seat/tank sender wanted
1989 240 GL manual, drivers seat collapsed (due to 220k miles and a liking for pies).
Dark grey velour. Fuel guage always empty, new sender required. Do any other seats fit in a 240? |

Hi, scrappys may be your best bet, although 200's are getting a bit rare in yards these days.
Try Braydons : http://www.braydonmotors.co.uk/ They may well have a choice as they're always breaking oldens. If you get no joy, try a pm to 'Stiggy' on here I'm sure I recall that he refurbished a 200 drivers seat in his old lpg 200. May be able to give you an idea of how easy (or not) it is. Good Luck.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the seats from an Alfa 156 could easily be adapted to fit.
Oh look - here's the link - hopefully it'll work without you needing to be a member there. Pete

Indeed I rebuilt the drivers seat in my old 240 GL . Was sagging pretty badly . I found a 240 passenger seat at my local scrap dealer just by chance , removed the old foam base and backrest and transferred it to my seat .
The hardest part is removing the hog rings that secure the cloth , my hands got pretty sore afterwards I can tell you ! Its not a difficult job , just awkward . As IH on here will tell you as he now has my old 240 , he says its the best 240 drivers seat he has ever sat in . |

I've been wondering too if 2,7,9 series seats are all interchangeable. My 940 seat squeaks like mad sometimes, not always, but when it does it drives me crazy, it's the interior springs. It looks good, is comfortable but I expect my only option is to change it. I'm not heavy, lol but the previous owner was quite big..

removing 240 front seats is very simple as there are no airbags in the seats . Im unsure as to how the 9 series seats would be removed , as I know some have airbags .
