Do SPA cars pop up a notification when brake pads needs replacing?

I am not sure as if low pad warning lights are ever that reliable really. If the pad suffers uniform wear ok but they don’t always. Personally whether they do or not (and I would be suprised if they do) I would not be happy to rely on it.

Are you not able to see through the wheels?

I know you can usually not see via the inspection port in the caliper but usually you can look through the spokes and see the pad lining admittedly only through the external side.

Just had service they said 2mm. But then they also said rear wiper worn ... Looks mint and was changed 2 years ago.

Car is 4 years old. I am quite light footed. Drove previous car (C class 7 years without needing pads replaced)

Is this something D.I.Yable? I have never done something like this, but have plenty of tools

I certainly change them in my 2012. I believe SPA require a tool to retract the sliders and remove the pads. Electronic and cheap.

I would do it diy myself

Volvo!!?? If you shop about you can usually get some decent deals. Why people go down other brands is beyond me. Unless you are running performance bells and rotors with different callipers

If you speak to eastbourne Volvo, to Chris or Ashley on the parts department they usually give very strong discounts and I can’t speak highly enough of them.

FRF Volvo are also highly rated on here, and Volvo trade parts (that may be FRF).

Cafyns and Volvo Eastbourne are both on eBay and discounts approach 50% so really worthwhile.

In my experience Volvo pads are absolute top notch.

Incidentally I don’t know or talk to anyone at FRF or Eastbourne, I simply use them.

Just changed the rear pads on mine a couple of weeks ago, found no sensors. Easy enough to do, you need to turn off the Auto Handbrake, done without any special tools,.
