Driveshaft question
Hi, have just bought a new V50 2.4i auto with sports chassis & 17" wheels. The car has about 1200kms on it now and I've noticed a slight wobble or shimmy at the front end when cold - seems to go away once you get going and is more noticeable in the passenger seat than driver seat.
I had the car up on a lift today to have a screw replaced after knocking the engine bottom cover on a kerb and the mechanic noted that the drivers side driveshaft must have been leaking as the cv boot was slightly greasy on the outside whereas the passenger side one was dry. The 'shimmy' has been there since new and I assumed it may simply be part of running-in though am concerned this is related to the greasy cv boot and there maybe a fault developing? IS this 'shimmy' typical for this model and simply the engine / running gear warming up or should I be concerned / have this back to Volvo for a checkup? |
