Default V70 D5252T pump tensioner failure, knock on effects?

This is not a thread on pump timing, but the knock on effects if any to a failure of the pump tensioner?

So a completely different car from the recent engine swap, but another v70 with the same engine.

Previous owner (not mechanically minded)had roadside problem, RAC told him it was a fuel delivery fault, however I got my hands in there & discovered the pump belt tensioner had failed.

I replaced the broken part and set everything in place ie, TDC + pump lined up ect, but just can't get her to fire up.

So I'm wondering about the possible knock on effects of the tensioner failing.

Any ideas?

not a problem , as long as the belt is replaced on exactly the same teeth orientation . It is a specialised job electronicaly timing it in spot on though and the tensioning affects timing also .. but you should find just one tooth combination where the engine at least runs runs . try one tooth back or forward from where you are .

Success! 108º out on the pump from manufacturer's mark.

Cheers clan for getting involved.
