Dash bulbs
Hi-this is my first post.
On my S60 D5 auto 52 reg instrument panel the clock/temp/gear selected panel is not illuminated, but the display is visible (just) when the sun is behind so I assume it is just a bulb gone. Just purchased a Haynes manual,so getting the instrument panel out seems fairly easy, but I can find no mention as to what bulb number is needed ! Obviously I would prefer to have a set of new bulbs to hand before starting. Any ideas ? Thanks Philip. |

I got an e-mail reply from London Volvo
Bulb 989800 @ £1.61 (same as 2721) Bulb holder 9128743 @ £2.35 Seems I need 4 of each. My question now is- can you easily fit new bulbs to the existing bulb holders ? Philip. |

you only needs the bulbs
and probably in a local automotive shop you can even buy them cheaper the colour of the holders tells you the used bulbs ( watt ) if you have a somewhat older car you could replace the socket/tubes ( or whatever it is in English ) which create the colour of the light in time these will fade all this also applies for the console ( where the climate control is ) bulbs in the switches also can be replaced ( one doesn't need to buy a complete switch as sometimes is suggested ) |

Thanks for that.
In the end I took the trim off and had a look, what a simple job, dont need to unplug the instrument housing. The bulbs looked like the Citroen ones I used to sell so I went to see my old boss and got a 286 bulb. They can be a bugger to get out of the holder but the one being replaced came out OK ! So job done and the bulb was free !! |
