SCL Unit dead, seeking advice
Hello everyone.
I have a 2008 Volvo V50, with a bad SCL unit. It is not seized, so it must be something electrical as it is also triggering the immobilizer system. I have 12VDC on the plug, and Vida throws no errors (except from the ones from the SCL unit). I did by a new one (second hand) with matching part-numbers, and i'm aware that it needs to be paired to the CEM module. However, for Volvo to do this, they tell my a brand new SCL unit is needed. I took apart the dead one, and can see it has a EEPROM soldered to the PCB. Would it be possible to swap the two EEPROM's and have a working unit again? Thanks! |
