Default S60 56 Plate Front suspension top nut

Hi all.

Ive been having a nock sound from the front suspension.

I popped the black cover of the top of the strut and using a 21mm socket I could turn it about a quarter of a turn and then it would bounce back to its original position...Is this normal, I dont have a 50mm torx to hand as yet.

1/4 turn is quite a bit, just don't force too much https://youtu.be/kj4JmZS2yM4

I think is cos you dont have a torx to counterhold it, youre just turning the rod coming out of the shock.. the top plate has a bearing that allows the strut to rotate when you turn the steering left/right , i too have that nock.. am due to have the strut to pieces to see if thats where it comes from, what sort of miles does yours have?
