Question Return of my leased XC40

I'm new to this forum so if I've posted this in the wrong place, I apologise, please don't get cross with me. My question is about returning a leased XC40 in the UK. Does anyone have a current scale of charges for excess wear and tear as identified by the BVRLA inspection? Thank you.

I believe there are several BVRLA standards in use. The lease company should give you a copy on the on they use on request.

Thank you for your response. I have a copy of the standard but that only specifies the acceptable amount of damage. What I'm looking for is the cost applied for damage that goes beyond that. I have a couple of scratches that will cost me about £280 to have repaired. I want to know if Volvo Car Finance will change less or more if I send the car back as it is.

If this is anything akin to returning a rented car then I can guess.... and it won't work in your favour.

After all, why be fair to the customer when they have no choice in the matter anyway?

Far better to profit from it.

Pretty sure they (Volvo Car Finance) will make the scratches sound worse than they are and increase the price for repair on that basis. It’s a money maker for them.

You’d be better getting the scratches repaired via an outside source, then returning the car to Volvo. Its highly unlikely that Volvo will be cheaper, so I wouldn’t waste the time even enquiring. Considering Volvo charge £180 per hour labour, the quote you got is a bargain.
