Totally agree with keeping the original motor. B21A non interference is fairly bullet proof.

Cheers I feel it started so well given the circumstances that it defiantly needs a chance of the road again.

I couldn’t bear it, having perfect paintwork, round here, narrow rds, small supermarket car parks, etc. At least we don’t live down near Agen, Toulouse. Visiting a friend there, I commented on the large number of cars with seriously dented side panels, Oh, that’s the boars, she said, in rut season they get uppity when u drive thru forests. . . Cheers I am glad your on board with the plans, I appreciate the lowering part wont be for everyone nor the patina. But hopefully we can make a good usable car from it. I will continue to update this thread and my Youtube channel with more updates.

I would suggest taking the head off, there are grub screws at the back that need taking out to clean the oil gallery. They tend to block up when not being so well serviced and lead to the cam seizing up in the bearings

That's great thanks for the tip I was actually tempted to have the engine out, give it a going over, but we shall see what time we have, but after seeing the other pulleys I will look to get the head off and go from there. I will be in touch with you guys soon with a parts order

Taking it out would be a good idea and replace all the seals etc while you are there
