I have a 960 Exec Estate (P Reg) that I bought new for my wife. I had an engine rebuild along with new brakes and suspension etc in 2016, about 12,000 miles ago.
Unfortunately, the catalytic converter was stolen and the insurance company fitted the wrong part and it has failed its MOT on the basis of emissions. I have found a company with them in stock but since the car does not comply with London's new ULEZ regulations it has more utility outside London.
Is anyone interested in this car?

I would very much like this car to go to someone who will continue with the restoration and use her. The price is immaterial to me, that she goes to a new appreciative owner is.

What is it that makes this can an executive? I have an executive saloon and that has longer back doors, deeper rear seat and increased leg room along with some extra toys.
I also have 2 Ambulances and hearse, my dad runs a 6 door limo. If there are features that make this an executive I am interested in adding it to my collection

But how much do you want?

It's pointless trying to sell a car on a "make me an offer" basis as nobody has clue what price region you are after. If I'm trying to buy something and get told that I lose all interest straight away as it makes me think the seller is waiting for a ridiculous price.

It has no MOT, requires a new cat and is in the ulez zone which isn't a cheap fix and reduces your buyers pool considerably.

The retro rides forum has the sales section perfected, you put a price and location in the title and have to include a decent description with clear photos, if those requirements aren't meant it goes to ad purgatory for a week and if it isn't corrected the advert gets deleted, it saves people wasting their time.

So my advise would be to give a proper description of what work is still required and how much you want for it.

Needless to say we have the invoices (circa £20,000) for the engine rebuild and the new suspension.

So are you expecting around £20k? If so there was an immaculately restored Royal which was advertised at £20k for a very long time and was for sale for well over a year at that. The price came down slowly and the last time I saw it, it was about £5k or swaps.

So the question still remains, how much do you want for it?

It occurs to me that 'CHRISH960' is being deliberately cagey in an attempt to (i) stimulate interest in his ad - which he undoubtedly has, and (ii) in the hope of getting the best possible price for his car, '360beast'. It may not be a strategy which you or I would use, but it is his right so to do.

I don't think that he is looking for £20K. That would be wholly unrealistic for a car sans an MOT and in need of work. The bills to which he refers relate to preventative maintenance which while perhaps making the car more saleable do little to increase it's value. It would simply be worth less without it.

As it is, I think that is a sub £1000 motor car. With a year's ticket, maybe £2-3K. Realistically in my view, the £5K to which you refer represents the maximum value for any 9 series car, unless it is exceptional in all respects.

So, I agree, as you very rightly say, "... the question still remains, how much do you want for it?".

Regards, John.

Doubt the emissions fail is due to the wrong cat being fitted. A cat is a cat! Probably an issue with the engine.

Engine rebuild under 100k is sus. London life?

That footwell makes it a £500 car, tops. Presentation is everything.
