I'm in similar situation - 5-year service end last November.
Dealer now offer two options: Their own volvo service plan: 3-year service plan 0% works out £960 total (320/year). If I want to go with "manufacturer service" which includes free volvo assistant, 3-year plan would cost a somehow (in my opinion) inflated £1500+ total (500+/year). A "not-to-scale" comparison with BMW mini 2-year service plan with bibs and bobs, my wife is paying £697 (348/year).

Does the service plan stay with the car if you sell it or do you get some money back?
Also is there a way to check what each service costs? You used to be able to do it on the Volvo website but now it seems to need too much precise information so it won't let you price forward.

Correction:
BMW mini 3-year service (only 2 services + 1 MOT + 1 AirCon + 2 Map updates + health check covered though) costing £697. Volvo Dealer now provide 10% discount so £13XX to cover 3 Volvo manufacturer services (Volvo assistant incl. as usual) + 3 MOTs (monthly 0%APR). Quote:
