Anyway, I think that is the gist of what I said. This is just my opinion though, I have no view on what other folk should spend their dollars on; if folk want to pay £15,000 for a 30 year old machine and then another £350/year to the government for the pleasure of driving it on the road then that is entirely their business.

I see what Luke is saying too but the general marketplace is made up of a lot of different people, for me i prefer V6 power so my last 760 was the "ultimate" 7/9xx for me and would pass over a 4-pot turbo in favour of a n/asp V6 at the same price. As we've discussed in countless different disguises during this thread, market forces will always decide the price.

If I recall the context was someone trying to sell a 30 year old VWW for probably as much as it had cost new (I can’t remember the detail, maybe something like £10,000 to £15,000). From my point of view paying a grand or two for a 30 year old car, then paying £300 or so per year tax for the next decade is sort of okay, but paying much more makes little sense… just my point of view, that is all.

Trying very hard to sit on my hands with this one, C'mon who's guilty??
https://www.carandclassic.com/auctio...-estate-n9PYRg Still 4 days to go..... Cheers Steve PS - Just seen the red 245 that was listed at £13,995 and mentioned a few times above is showing 'Deposit Taken' , interesting, its either a dealer 'trying it on' hoping to get a buyer by a pretence that another buyer is ahead of them. Or, its someone who wants that motor and cash isn't really an issue. Last edited by Steve 940; Today at 17:11. |
