This happened on mine a few years ago because a pipe feeding the rear screenwasher began to leak under the dash and penetrated a CANBus connector. Very recently someone else had the exact same issue...

It also happens sometimes if I forget and leave my ELM327 Bluetooth adaptor plugged in overnight and then start up.
