yes the first thing is change the oil and make sure the gearbox software is up to date . then run it for a few days ..
If you have just bought it I guess you have bought someone else's problem .

I’m afraid Clan it’s the stock answer mate. I reckon they don’t want to get involved otherwise it becomes their problem. I ended up at a specialist who knew their stuff. I had an intermittent flare on the box which didn’t go after countless resets, software upgrades and so on.
But…. If you tow or a taxi where it’s a high use box the dealer will service at 52k if memory serves so therefore not sealed for life. The one excuses it’d disturb contaminants in the box and could potentially damage it which just tells me exactly what I said…. They’re not interested full stop. I don’t blame this attitude in Volvo U.K. directly but it’s the Dealers dodging something that’s potentially a risk to them.
